At the end of tonight's Gossip Girl, Dove did a featurette on a New York designer Chrissie Miller. Part of the mini-doc she talked about her private school up-bringing on the Upper Eastside (check), showed a photo of the park (check) and a street sign that said 90th St. And my heart sank, could it be? Sacred Heart?! Immediately after I saw this I looked her bio up online and in fact she is from the Convent of the Sacred Heart! Can I get a what what!
This is where I spent many nights while volunteering in not-so-nearby soup kitchens. And saw my first prostitute. I have lots of memories here while meeting Sacred Heart students from all over the US (there are 19 total). I'm from the one in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Maybe we can get Sister Bearss to bring more alums in like Chrissie and less like Cokie Roberts, who I think still comes once a year or about that! What has Cokie done for me lately? Here's Chrissie's line, Sophomore. It seems very Erin Wasson x RCVA-y, but whatever.

After piano this morning I met my friend Jill for breakfast at my new favorite breakfast spot in Dallas. We discovered that we're both quick to label things"the most awesome place ever" but that's just fine because for right now, Taco Joint is it. When she said "it's the most Austin-y place in Dallas" I was quick to roll my eyes and think yeah right, but it was pretty freaking adorable.
Once we settled in to our vintage diner set table and chairs with our coffee and 4-pound breakfast burrito it was on to people watching. There were SO many cute young couples with babies. One especially inspired that little collage up top there. That is pretty well exactly what she was wearing, She was so cute. She had a little pixie hair cut and a baby on her hip, naturally.

I know I tend to be an exaggerator. But seriously Legacy Books is my heaven. Only this place could get me to drive 21 miles each way to the suburbs on a Sunday. I LOVE THIS PLACE! First off, Legacy is so well-designed. It's super modern but so inviting. There's lots of neat spaces to chill out, not like Borders where I'm squatting on the floor in the middle of the aisle huffing and puffing when someone passes by. Hello, this is MY aisle! I especially love the art/coffee table book room that's almost lit like a museum.
I've been crazy about books, and book covers, for as long as I can remember. And I had a heart palpitation when I stumbled upon this table full of newly designed Penguin Classic Deluxe edition books. They're all paperbacks, but made of a sturdy stock, WITH flaps on the inside covers, which you rarely see with paperbacks. But my favorite part is how they took these classics and redesigned the covers to be so much more fun and approachable. I mean who wouldn't want to pick up a book about poverty and the meatpacking industry when the title is in hot pink?

While I was at CVS today waiting for my prescription I was playing around in the makeup aisle. Secretly dabbing different shades of red all over my hand, then rubbing it off and dashing into the nearby tampon aisle as employees passed by. Later at the checkout I hit the coupon jackpot with a whopping $3.50 in CVS bucks, so I headed back over to the lipsticks and picked out my favorite one. I think it's the one, really. I've been wearing it all night, even while cleaning my bathroom.
